If I had a million somoni I will first by a big land where I will create a wild park for animals. Then I could give money to an association for helping poor people and children to go to school. Third I would help scientist to save the Earth. And fourth I would go to Senegal and help my friends Anna and Henri because they are really poor and I love them very much.

If I had a million somoni, I would go to the Philippines and go to my friends’ house. I would use the rest of the money to buy toys and ice cream. I would also buy my own motorcycle.

What I Did This Weekend (C.J)

This weekend was fun. I watched a movie. I played with my cat Jack. I went to lunch with my friend. I drove around Dushanbe.

The week was fun. (K.O.)

This week was fun because I went to basketball. We hadn't had basketball for more than 4
weeks. We had some drills, and then a game. We won with the score 14-8. It was extremely
fun, with the ball flowing to each end of the courts. I'm sure that the others liked it too.

May 12 - Post Your Art so the World Can See it!

Greetings everyone,

You're first going to take a typing test to see if your typing speed and accuracy has improved. Then, you will post one of your "paintings" to our new flickr account, which IO and KO created. Once you have done both of those things, there are some other accounts to create. SR – add one more educational web site to del.icio.us/qsidushanbe before doing anything else.

Part 1
Feel free to practice typing if you want to, otherwise, go straight to the test. Please take the next 2 levels (or more if you want to). If your scores are higher, go go to Part 2. If your scores are the same or lower, practice typing for another 10 minutes.

Part 2
Pick a picture and post it! Remember that all images need to be small enough and in a format that can be seen on the internet. Also, make sure that only one person is posting an image at the same time. When you have finished posting, log out, or close flickr. Here are step-by-step directions:

1. Find a painting you created using MS Paint. If you don’t already have one, create one.
   
2. Using MS Picture Manager, resize your painting so that it's small enough to put up on the
   internet (less than 100 KB. 50-60 KB is best). Ask me to check before uploading it.
   
3. Upload your artwork to flickr. If you have questions regarding how to log in, ask IO or KO.
4. Be sure to include your initials as part of the title.
   
   

Things to do when you’ve finished:

Change the template of this blog
Go to http://www.blogger.com/ and login using the same information you use to log into our gmail email account. See if you can figure out how to change the template on your own. Ask me if you still have questions after you have explored a bit.

Create a new gmail account, that we will use to create a class blog. The user name should be qsiblog@gmail.com and the password: dushanbe

Create a class blog. Once the new gmail email account has been created, someone else needs to create your class blog. To do so, go to http://www.blogger.com/ and follow the directions.

A) Today your first task is to finish posting the URLS of 3 educational web sites to our del.icio.us/QSIdushanbe web site. Remember:

• Put your initials after the DESCRIPTION of each web site. If you need to, go back and edit your posting.
  
• Write on Notepad and then cut and paste the information to del.icio.us DO NOT TYPE on delicious.
  
• Log out or close the del.icio.us/QSIdushanbe web site as soon as you have finished posting so that another student can log-in.
  
• Do not log-in if someone else is already logged in or things may get messed up.

B) When done, take the Sierra Club’s Earth Day energy efficiency quiz at : http://www.sierraclub.org/quiz/energyefficiency

C) When you’ve finished the online quiz, explore http://del.icio.us/QSIdushanbe

Click on of our tags then scroll to the top of the page and click “popular” to get a list of the most popular sites that have been tagged with the same word. Find at least 2 sites you like that have one of the same tags we have. Copy and paste the URLs to your web site Notepad document. Later you can post them to our delicious site.

Educational Web Sites to post on del.icio.us

Hello QSI Students!

Your task today is to find an interesting and useful EDUCATIONAL web site. Please! no game or non educational sites allowed. There are a variety of sites for you to explore listed below.

Before you begin, open a new Notepad document and save it to your folder as "Web Sites". When you come across web pages that interest you, copy the URL (Ctrl + c) and then paste it into your web site document. You can save as many educational web sites as you like, but I'd like you to find at least 3 sites of interest.

For each web site, please include the following information:

1) The URL (the exact web site address of the web page that you selected)

2) A brief description of what you can learn from the web page

3) A longer description that explains why you like the web site

You can type all this information in your Notepad document so that you just need to copy and paste it when you post the URLs to www.del.icio.us
